Phab is pleased to announce that once again, in conjunction with Freedom in the Air, an exciting series of free flying days for 20 Phab club members at two locations in the UK. Participants will have the amazing opportunity to take to the skies and, with guidance from the pilot, to take the controls of a specially adapted plane using the hand controls. Phab Regional Officer
There was recently a survey done by the Torbay Children and Young People’s Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise Sector Partnership. They visited Phab and we featured in their Update which went out to all the organizations locally that took part. This really is wonderful to read and is testimony to all at the Phab club for the work they do.
Here is an excerpt from the update…
“Me and Tanny had the privilege of going along (on pancake day, we lucked out…) to Phab Club – such amazing work going on there with young people with learning difficulties. So great to see the variety of activities, and the investment in long term relationships where young people move up through the project to eventually become volunteers. A brilliant example of co-design with young people.
The Ocean Youth crew were there, creating radio content with a group of very engaged young people who were clearly getting loads out of the session and taking part in social action.”

The Heritage Ability Project
The Project is looking for Deaf or disabled volunteers and their carers who would like to have an expenses-paid day out at a local heritage site, along with a chance to give feedback about how the trip went. The team produces guides and aids for disabled and Deaf people which need to be tested by people with the relevant lived experience. Mystery Visitor Volunteers visit sites up to one hour by car of where they live and provide feedback on sites and products using the Heritage Ability Project feedback forms provided. The Heritage Ability Project can then provide expenses for the mystery visitor and an accompanying carer, as well as a £20.00 “thank you” for the mystery visitor. Keen to get involved? Big thank you to Richard The minister and Barton Baptist Church where we run Phab.
Richard raised a brilliant £358
With our sponsored swim.
We had hoped he would part the water but we all made it, some got stung by baby jelly fish but all were ok and this funding will go to pay for things like I-bounce, cinema evenings and bowling.
Thank you to all who took part and/or contributed to make this event a great success before we went on our summer holidays.
