All Phab clubs are cancelled until further notice due to the Coronavirus epidemic!
The British government has today advised that all clubs should be avoided until further notice to prevent the possibility of the virus spreading. Therefore we have no alternative but to cancel all our Phab club nights until further notice. Apologies – Stay safe
Whilst we are all in lockdown, we thought you might enjoy seeing the video interviews done at Phab by Sound Communities recently:
Torquay Phab Club & Lifeworks have formed a partnership to deliver a body image project called IWILLConnect to help with youth loneliness, from the Imagine This partnership, via co op funding.
We are developing work around body image and plan to have two big all day events one at Torbay Velopark on the 4th July Multi sport with Torquay United and much more and one at Torre Abbey on 6th July.
Both charities have a cross over of young people accessing benefitting from both our offers of activities and fun and I Mark work for both organisations and my time is used to support across.
@lifeworksuk – Please add this to all we do on this project and this than tags Lifeworks in. Thank you

As of 16th January 2020, Phab Club Torquay has become a stand alone charity in it’s own right – Registered Charity Number 1187410. We still hold a close relationship and affiliation to the national Phab Charity.

Our very own June Mills received a well deserved award last week – The Paul Hope Award 2019 – in London at the House of Lords. It was part of Phab’s national volunteer awards.
What an achievement – Well done June
Here is the video animation that was created by Oakleigh with the help of Matthew Roberts, Daniel Lock, Fred Rowe and Rhi’s music.

There was recently a survey done by the Torbay Children and Young People’s Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise Sector Partnership. They visited Phab and we featured in their Update which went out to all the organizations locally that took part. This really is wonderful to read and is testimony to all at the Phab club for the work they do.
Here is an excerpt from the update…
“Me and Tanny had the privilege of going along (on pancake day, we lucked out…) to Phab Club – such amazing work going on there with young people with learning difficulties. So great to see the variety of activities, and the investment in long term relationships where young people move up through the project to eventually become volunteers. A brilliant example of co-design with young people.
The Ocean Youth crew were there, creating radio content with a group of very engaged young people who were clearly getting loads out of the session and taking part in social action.”
